Practicing English Language

Lots of au pairs come into the program for more than just traveling to America, but to improve their English.

There are of course ESL classes at the local schools, but there are also some more ways to get more practice!

Talk Time is the name of the drop in ESL conversation group that takes place multiple times a month. It looks like most of the events take place at Broadview, Freemont, and at the Central Library, so I recommend checking on the Seattle Public Library site in case they change or add more that are closer to NE Seattle.

If more help is needed, there are lots of other free resources like Google Translate which is great for translating text, and apps like DuoLingo that have versions for most phones as well. News in Easy English is one I hear about too, and they do have other languages as well if you are learning a language as well.

Let me know if you have any other recommendations that belong on this list!
